I am a newspaper reporter and as we all know everything about the industry is changing. I recently left my job in a busier area at a bigger paper because I knew I wanted to write about young people. It's kind of my thing.
That being said, there are a few concerns I still need to take into consideration.
1.) Newspapers will not exist someday, at least not in their current form. Internet > Newspapers
2.) Even now, I don't believe newspapers cover young people as often or as in-depth as they should.
3.) Snark and sass are only tolerated in small doses in newspapers.
It is my hope that I address the above concerns in a way that is insightful and interesting. Tons of cool stuff happens on my beat all the time that I never get to write about. That stops now.
